The Das Brothers' Reunion
Krishna Das & Lama Surya Das
a Weekend of Teaching, Conversation, Meditation, and Chanting
March 25 & 26 2011
We welcome back to Pittsburgh longtime friends Lama Surya Das and Krishna Das, masters of the sacred practices of Tibetan Buddhism and Bhakti Yoga, the Hindu-based Yoga of Devotion.
Who am I? Where did I come from? What am I doing here? The traditions of sacred living—East and West—call on us to answer these questions through deep connection, understanding, and devotion to our lives, our relationships, and the vibrant world of which we are a part. Join us for a weekend of celebration, devotion, and community with two extraordinary American masters.
On Friday night, Lama Surya Das and Krishna Das join for an evening of teaching, stories, prayer, and song. They will talk with us about their own spiritual paths, what they have learned along the way, and the practices they’ve come to share with us. On Saturday afternoon, Lama Surya Das teaches on Dzogchen, the wisdom of Tibetan Buddhism that show us how to recognize the Buddha Within, our true nature. Dinner with local chanting groups will follow. Saturday evening, Krishna Das and troupe offer a traditional Kirtan, a mix of devotional chanting, teachings, and reflection, equally a celebration of the Divine essence within each and All.
Venue: First United Methodist Church of Pittsburgh, 5401 Centre Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15232
At the intersection of Baum Blvd./Liberty Ave./S. Aiken Ave.
